The article Undue Hardship: The Employer's Burden Under the ADAAA written by Ronda O'Donnell and Lee Durivage (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania), was recently published in the Labor & Employment Supplement to the Legal Intelligencer.
Sharon O'Donnell (Harrisburg, Pennsylvania) presented as a faculty member a segment on Dispute Resolution in Federal Court and Federal Agency Actions at a recent Pennsylvania Bar Institute Conference entitled A Guide to Section 504 in Public Schools to attorneys, teaching professionals and school administrators, held at the PBI Conference Center in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.
Patrick Boland (Scranton, Pennsylvania) presented a seminar entitled Handling the Police Liability Claim. Specifically, Patrick presented on the topic of Defending the Police Liability Claim. The seminar was held in Scranton and presented to attorneys, police administrators and municipal officials.
Scott Eichhorn (Roseland, New Jersey) was a speaker for the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education on the topic of Preparing & Presenting Medical Malpractice Cases: Useful Information from Medical Malpractice Practitioners and Trial Judges. Joined by esteemed colleagues in the field of medical malpractice, Scott presented techniques on how to best represent your client in a medical malpractice claim.
Thomas DeLorenzo (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) was a presenter at the 17th Annual Employment Law Institute held in Philadelphia. This two-day program is put on by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute and is considered the premier CLE program for employment lawyers in eastern Pennsylvania. Tom's topic was Appellate Advocacy: The Art of Oral Argument. The presentation consisted of a mock appellate oral argument in an employment case. The presentation was based on a case which was actually argued before the U.S. Supreme Court in March 2011. Tom argued for the employer and Harold Goodman of Raynes McCarty argued for the employee. Sitting as the court hearing the argument were Judge D. Brooks Smith of the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals and Judge Gene E. K. Pratter of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. The mock argument was followed by comments by the judges and questions from the audience.
Buck Buchanan (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) recently had an article published in the Legal Intelligencer entitled Common Sense Ways to Increase Minority Representation Among Interviewees.
Daniel McDermott (New York, NY) made a presentation to the Marine Claims and Recovery Forum entitled Does the Long Shore Harbor Workers' Compensation Act Preempt New York State Labor Law in Marine Construction Accidents? The presentation discussed the interplay of the two statutes as they apply to the maritime-based parties and the land-based parties involved in a marine construction incident.
