Marshall Dennehey Expands Florida Workers’ Compensation Practice With the Addition of Shareholder Blake J. Hood in Jacksonville

Marshall Dennehey is proud to announce the expansion of its Florida Workers’ Compensation practice with the addition of Blake J. Hood, who joins the firm’s Jacksonville office as a shareholder. Hood was previously a partner at a regional insurance defense firm in Jacksonville.

Board Certified in Workers’ Compensation by The Florida Bar, Hood has over 20 years of experience defending employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators in claims and appeals under the Florida Workers’ Compensation Act. His practice also extends to cases involving the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act and the Defense Base Act.

“We are thrilled to welcome Blake to our Florida workers' compensation team,” said Michele R. Punturi, Director of Marshall Dennehey’s Workers’ Compensation Department. “He is a highly regarded figure in the Florida legal community, known for his extensive legal knowledge and his ability to effectively represent clients across a wide range of industries. His combination of legal acumen and business insight makes him an invaluable addition to our firm.”

In addition to his legal practice, Hood is actively involved in the professional community. He is a member of the Jacksonville Bar Association’s Workers’ Compensation Section and serves as a Barrister of the E. Robert Williams Inn of Court. A graduate of Emory University and the Florida State University College of Law, he is admitted to practice law in both Florida and North Carolina.
